Larry Meager (and Kay), Senior Pastor

Hi, Thank you for stopping by our web page. Kay and I have the privilege of leading the Thousand Oaks Church, a wonderful "family friendly" church made up of a rich blend of cultures and generations. If you are looking for a church that will feel like home while you grow in your relationship with Christ, you will love Thousand Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Let me introduce myself a little to you. I was born in Washington, D.C., at Washington Adventist Hospital. A third-generation Adventist and a second generation preacher, you can guess I have a warm place in my heart for the Adventist Church and mission. After several years of ministry in New York, I attended Andrews University Seminary for my graduate degree. My last place of ministry was in Modesto, California where we served our church there for thirteen years. I have ministered at the Thousand Oaks Church since January of 2002.

My passion in ministry involves a strong commitment to teaching Biblical truths that will help us live a joyful Christian life, be faithful witnesses to others, and be prepared for the coming Kingdom Jesus promised. Christ Himself tells us that our greatest joy will be the new life He gives that we can share with others. You will hear these themes often in my Sabbath sermons and Mid-week Bible studies (Wednesday nights).

My ministry at Thousand Oaks involves preaching and leading the church through the board and finance meetings as we position ourselves for both nurture and outreach. I also act as a resource person for the larger Adventist work in our West Region of the Southern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists by sitting on a number of boards and planning committees.

My wife of thirty-eight years, Kay, is a school teacher. We have three wonderful children. I love families and young people. Pastor Jon Clark, Pastor Lauren Cline, Gaylene and I want to model God's unfailing love to the members we serve at the Thousand Oaks Church.
